The eXPF model

The eXPF model is used for improving the performance of the dWPF model at the extreme events like ramps, phase errors, intense errors, cut-offs etc. Also, it can be applied just for alarming to the expected large errors of the wind power forecasting.

It receives the output of the dWPF model and of the WU model. It consists of a pARTMAP network and six HML-RBFNN, while it applies wavelet decomposition to the wind power timeseries.

The performance of this model in many extreme events is impressive (see paper III for more details).
